Matt's music is included on the annual Minneapolis Cities 97 Sampler CD for the second year in a row. The CD's hold collections of songs from live performances at Minneapolis' Cities 97 Studio each year.



Last year, Cities 97 added Come On Get Higher to the mix. The 2009 Sampler CD features All We Are.

It will be available at Minneapolis Target stores on Thursday, November 19th at 8 a.m. The CD is expected to sell out early. Proceeds go to charity.

In typical Matt fashion, during Sugarlands cover/remix of Its Getting Hot in Here, Matt came out on stage dressed as a stripper with a few male strippers.

Recall a few years ago in Providence RI while touring with Train a giant dildo was lowered from the ceiling in front of Matt during one of the latter songs in Matt's set. In turn, during Trains "Calling all angles" Matt pranced across the stage in a similar outfit as the video above except with wings in retaliation.

It was only a matter of time before Matt embarked on his first over seas tour. The lucky first country? Australia! So if you live or are traveling to the land down under between October 12-14th be sure to check out the tour dates

Matt played the Iowa State Fair on Sunday night - a date that had been scheduled for quite a while. Once we figured out a couple of months ago that he'd be playing at the SAME time as Heart and Journey (who were on a different stage at the fair), I'll admit to a bit of a sinking feeling. We were watching with interest to see how this show ultimately would go down. Finally the setlist was lengthy for a free show, with quite a few covers/teases thrown in. Matt covered Journey's "Faithfully" which can be found here on YouTube. When the video gets shaky and a bit blurry at at about 3:10, take some time to notice Aaron Tap's impressive moments on guitar!

Earlier in the day, Matt did a radio promo show for Des Moines' Star 102.5 at Fleming's Steakhouse. Star 102.5 posted the interviews and performances in a series of three podcasts. The interviews were fun to listen to, so we figured that we would share them here. The station promises that videos are coming soon.

We added a couple of September shows with the Indigo Girls today, PLUS three college/charity event shows happening this week in Ohio and Illinois. The number of dates on the tour date list is dwindling. We can not wait to see what the fall brings.

While Matt was doing a recent benefit show in Los Angeles for VH1's Save the Music Foundation he did an interview with L.A.'s Examiner.com. It's a good interview. This is the part that caught our eye:

"EXAMINER: Do you have any touring plans for the summer?
NATHANSON: Yes, I have tour dates with Sugarland, [Indigo] Girls and some with [OAR]. Then in the fall I will be doing a headlining tour."

The rest of the article is worthy of reading too, but news about a possible headlining tour is pretty exciting!

This morning we added two shows. It looks like Matt IS going to play at O.A.R.'s 8/15 show at Madison Square Garden. We also found and added an additional September date with Matt opening for Sugarland. Find the specifics for each new show added here.

Today we saw that Matt will be at Portland, Maine's Q97.9 Q Music Lounge on 6/12/09. It looks like you must win tickets to gain entry. We'll add the date soon, but want to make sure anyone in the Portland area sees this so they can figure out how to win a pair SOON.

The previously posted Modesto date was recently changed from 6/26/09 to 8/02/09. Today, we also added a 7/03/09 festival near Orlando, FL to the tour date list. Find the specifics for each new show added here.
