A Very Moving Story Yah I was at that show. I saw her signing the lyrics to his songs. I figured she was already deaf. Since being on stage she would get the most out of the vibrations. This was a surprise when I saw it on the news. Nice job Matt. |

A Very Moving Story Matt's a great guy. I don't understand how people can say he is into himself. He's also doing a concert in Cheshire to raise money to the various Petit Family Memorial Scholarships. Which is great because I know the oldest daughter, Hayley, listed him has one of her favorite musical artist. Go MATT! Time person of the year. |

A Very Moving Story Yea shes an amazing girl. She is disappointed in how the news station portrayed her in that video. Matt was great. I commend her on how upbeat she remains. Her surgery is April 14th |

A Very Moving Story Part of her issue is it focused on her too much. She didn't really want that. She wanted the chance to bring more awareness to NF2(Neurofibromatosis). They didn't really do that. There were other things that bothered her that others may not understand. But I don't really wanna get into it. Thanks for asking though Derek. |

A Very Moving Story got it.. and I agree with her/you. They definitely did not do a good job of that. I didn't understand what the disease was when I watched the vid other than she had a tumor that was pressing against her spine(?). I also didn't get the connection to why she would lose her hearing. Video just said she would.. it didn't explain why. Any info you can provide, keeping it unpersonal would be appreciated - I'm definitely curious and I'm sure others are as well. Maybe we can pickup what the video left off |

A Very Moving Story NF2 is a condition that causes tumors to grow all over the place. She happens to have one the size of a lemon to the side of her brain stem. Because of the size its putting extreme pressure on her brain, causing headaches. In order to remove that pressure the tumor has to be removed. Unfortunately the tumor is on top of her acoustic nerve (The nerve that sends sound waves from the ear drum to the brain). Because of this as soon as that pressure is release the acoustic nerve will be damaged. To remove the tumor anyway it will take part of her acoustic nerve as well. Its a no win situation because her headaches are very bad. |

A Very Moving Story Is this curable / treatable? or would someone continue to get tumors perpetually? |

A Very Moving Story My older brother has suffered his whole life of a similar condition. He has what is called an AVM (Arterio Venus Malformation). What it is, is a mass of blood vessels ON his brain stem that draws blood away from his brain. It's about the size of a pinky nail. Because of this, he had to be put in a wheelchair about two years ago. He's had four surgeries, including the Gamma Ray to try and treat it but nothing has really worked. He's also had three brain hemorrhages. I know no one really cares, but this girl's condition was similar to my brother's and I just thought it was kind of coincidental. Maybe Matt will come play a concert for my brother... haha. I wish. |

A Very Moving Story If anyone is interested (and in the area) another local television station is doing a story on Jessica this coming Monday (4/28) at 6pm on WZZM 13. I haven't seen the story yet, so I don't know what exactly is in it, but I do know they're using "All We Are" as background music. It should be online after it airs - I'll let you know if that's case and where to find it. |
