+ Holiday Show Let Down So, I just saw Matty Nay with some friends out in Jersey at the Winter Wonder Jam at the Sovereign Bank Arena and i will say, it was a big let down. Since not seeing him since October I was pretty pumped to see him again as his popularity status is slowly rising but last night he only played 4 SONGS! Although it was extremely nice to see him play solo, which I enjoy most, I just feel like he got screwed. He even said it last night that he flew from Florida to play this show and had to fly back the next morning, AND they didn't even put his name on the ticket or on the huge welcome sign outside of the Arena. Also, what made me mad is that Colbie Caillat and Gavin Degraw didn't even acknowledge the fact that he opened the show. They weren't even selling any Matt merchandise, lameee...I'm guesing this was just to get his name out there for the ever so long ladder to stardom for him. Still though, the 4 songs he played (which were all from Some Mad Hope) were fantastic....Just thought I would put my two cents in there for the concert haha! |

+ Holiday Show Let Down If I'm not mistaken, I believe the lack of merch was because of a shipping issue. And yes, 4 songs was short. But the people near me were super excited to see him...I nearly lost the hearing in my right ear from the girls next to me squeeeeeling when he came onstage. |

+ Holiday Show Let Down I was at this show too. I actually won backstage passes, and the look on his face when I walked up to him was priceless. He asked me how I "Managed to work this one". He said UPS lost the Merch. I just feel so bad that he flew up in the AM to do 4 songs to fly back down to Fla. SO nice of him, but I do feel really bad. Any excuse for me to see him is fine in my world! |

+ Holiday Show Let Down I was at this show (and backstage too). My friend asked Matt to play Romeo and Juliet but he said he only had time for 4 songs. He didn't seem happy about it, probably because we all know how much he enjoys playing. I did ask if he could do Gone since it's off the new CD and he said yes (and actually did end up playing it). There weren't many people in my section (first section in front of the stage to the right) who were as excited as we were. Despite the short set list Matt rocked the house and I think gained some more fans as a result. |
