+ Stream Modern Love Okay, i dont want to get in trouble at all for doingthis but if you are using a windows cpu, which i hate!!!! Just use internet explorer, while onthe page where it streams then go to internet options from the top toolbar and access your cookies... Hopefully i havent list you... Youll just click a button that says show files. After that click the first song and wait for it to load completely and the mp3 file will pop up in the cookies. Copy that to wherever and open it in itunes... Note this is from his twitter link.. Downsides to this... :( its stealing, but i got both the vinyl and cd preorders... So dont hate :(. And also they are only 128 kbps files, so really low quality and i like FLAC. That sums it up. If anymore help is needed conact me at darthmannion14@yahoo.com. However i do not condone stealing this album. A masterpiece like this deserves 15 dollars. If this violates a rule delete the post. I love this site too much to lose it. |

Most people who stumble on this site or are reading your post are most likely buying/bought the album or attending a lot of live shows. I didn't know you could get it like that. I'm sure a lot of people just recorded it from the stream to put on their iPods etc.. |

I did it because I couldnt wait to get the CD and put it into my iPod, so I ripped it from the stream because I wanted to have it with me wherever I go as fast as possible. :P But I encourage anyone who loved what they heard on the stream to BUY the album! Its worth the money hands down, everythings Matts done is. Plus it helps him make more music, which we all want. :) |

+ Stream Modern Love laurel101: maybe 10 years ago I would have agreed with you but now a days these files / instructions are readily available all over the internet. Also as I mentioned before anyone who is on this site and reading this thread is probably die hard enough to have purchased the album in the pre-order already and you can bet your butt they are promoting Matt to their friends etc... We don't get a lot visits to this site so I have to believe that the people who are coming back are buying the albums. I will personally confess to not owning all of Matt's albums (that were out before I became a Matt fan). However, I guarantee I have spent enough money on website hosting fees alone, never mind concert tickets and my time (taping shows and getting them to you guys, this website, promoting Matt etc..) to cover the cost of the 3 or so albums I don't own many times over. Not trying to start a fight nor justify it for people who are not buying the album. Just stating that I think there are many other factors people don't consider other than "its stealing" Andreas: I think the streams were 128kbps so you aren't gaining anything with your 320kpbs files. I could be wrong - I'm totally just basing this on what my ears hear and that is not good quality :-( |

+ Stream Modern Love derek, my concern is not with people who are coming to this site, but with the people they may send the files to. and the people they may send them to, and so on. those are people who may have been interested enough to buy the record, but won't because a friend sent it to them for free. it is hard enough to get people to spend money on music...why make it even a tiny bit harder for an artist you really care about? also, i think it is obvious that having people rip the tracks and share them was not the intention behind offering the stream. i suppose in this day and age it is inevitable that someone will, but it still strikes me as disrepectful. |

+ Stream Modern Love I understand your concerns Laurel. I'm just under the belief that if people want to buy the record they are going to. If they do not then they will not - whether they get it sent to them from the rip of the stream or not. I obviously don't represent the world on this but among my group of friends (and me personally) that's kind of how it works. I don't really want to get into an ethics argument because we both know who is right - and its not me! Its a dog eat dog world out there and artists need to adapt. I think Matt has done that beautifully and has obviously worked very hard in doing so. I highly value your comments though and am enjoying this conversation. |
